Kylis
Kiel is a city in northern Germany located on the Baltic Sea. The city was the country’s main naval base until after the Second World War.
Kiel is famous for sailing events; each year the city hosts ‘Kieler Woche’, a series of sailing regattas. Thanks to its strategic location, cruise passengers can visit a whole host of great holiday attractions, which are all within easy reach of Kiel.
Opt to visit neighbouring Hamburg for example: a relaxed, visitor-friendly German city with a cosmopolitan atmosphere and exciting examples of new urban regeneration.
We’ll visit the main landmarks and the historic district of Speicherstadt before enjoying a traditional lunch. A day trip to Lubeck, with its well-preserved medieval old town makes for a worthwhile visit, to see this unique UNESCO world heritage site.
Families and children will enjoy the Schleswig-Holstein open-air museum in Molfsee, a village reconstruction complete with peasant houses and craftsmen’s workshops, giving a complete picture of life in times gone by.
A romantic day out is guaranteed on our ‘castles and roses’ tour where you can enjoy a beautiful boat ride on a picturesque lake and wander the gardens and grounds of Eutin castle.
